A Masterpiece of Nature
Imagine, you could create a fish that can show every possible colour on his body and finnage.
Well, there is a such a fish and you can breed any colour that you possibly can imagine.
The nature itself created the species Poecilia reticulata (Guppy) that offers us to be creative with the nature and gives the Aquarists an unlimited potential to work with.

The Wild-Guppy
Originaly, the Guppy came from northern South America (Venezuela, Guyana) and the islands of Trinidad & Tobago. But soon he became a cosmopolite, because he was introduced in tropical zones around the globe to fight against Malaria. The Guppy eats mostly everything but he is crazy for Mosquito larves. The Highbreed-Guppies prefer more than that.

The Highbreed-Guppy
Since the first import of Guppies to Germany (1908 by C. Siggelkow), many Aquarists worked with the Guppy. The fact that the Guppy multiplies pretty fast and the tendency to develop different colours and shapes made him the most popular tropical fish worldwide. Which other fish gives the breeder so many possibilities to get in touch with the nature in a creative way ?
